Community-led art fundraiser supporting Hurricane Relief in Jamaica

In December 2025, Ackee Seed Foundation hosted the Art of Returning art fundraiser in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The event brought together artists, community members, and partners to raise funds in support of hurricane relief efforts in Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa.

Fundraiser Outcomes

  • Total funds raised: €4,450

  • Funds generated through artwork sales, ticket revenue, and donations

  • Proceeds directed toward hurricane relief and recovery efforts in Jamaica

  • Travel and research costs funded independently from donations

What This Means Next

This fundraiser was one meaningful step in a longer journey. The team is now:

  • Building partnerships on the ground in Jamaica

  • Structuring long-term programs rooted in community needs

  • Planning a research trip to listen and develop sustainable support strategies

This early work helps us grow responsibly and transparently.
