Ackee Seed Foundation Research & Partnerships Trip to Jamaica

Listening first. Acting with intention.

Building long-term impact through research, and collaboration

As immediate relief efforts continue, Ackee Seed Foundation is entering a phase focused on listening, learning, and strategic planning. We are currently preparing for a self-funded, research-focused trip to Jamaica, involving a small team of two to three people.

Purpose of the Trip

This visit is not centered on implementation, but on:

  • Strengthening relationships with local communities

  • Identifying gaps in existing support

  • Understanding needs through direct conversation rather than assumption

One of our key focus areas includes ongoing dialogue with a primary school in Daniel Town, Trelawny, assessing post-hurricane repair needs and broader community priorities, including food security.

What Comes Next

Following the trip, we will:

  • Regroup and analyze findings

  • Share insights with partners and supporters

  • Develop a long-term, community-informed action plan

GoFundMe contributions continue to support immediate relief, while we explore partnerships to help sustain this research and planning phase.

Invitation

If you are an organization, institution, or individual interested in:

  • Partnership development

  • Resource-sharing

  • Strategic collaboration

This phase is about doing the work slowly, responsibly, and in relationship, ensuring that future initiatives are grounded in care and accountability.

We welcome you to reach out.
