In December, Ackee Seed Foundation partnered with Caribbean Creatives and Melkweg Cinema to host a special screening of The Harder They Come (1972), honouring reggae legend Jimmy Cliff. Hosted by Karla King, the evening created space for cultural reflection, remembrance, and community dialogue in support of hurricane relief efforts in Jamaica.
Art of Returning Art Auction: A Community-Led Fundraiser for Jamaica
Art of Returning was a community-led art fundraiser held in Utrecht in response to Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. Organised by visual artist and Ackee Seed Foundation founder Karla King, the event brought together art, conversation, and collective care, raising €4,450 to support recovery efforts and long-term community initiatives.
